About these formats
LRC
LRC is a lightweight text format invented in 1998 to display synchronised lyrics alongside audio playback. Each line is preceded by a timestamp in [minutes:seconds.centiseconds] form, and most modern karaoke and music players (Foobar2000, MusicBee, KuGou, RockBox, Plex) read it natively. Enhanced LRC additionally supports per-word timestamps via inline <mm:ss.xx> tags, enabling true karaoke-style highlighting.

TTML is a W3C XML standard for timed text. It supports rich styling, regions, animations and accessibility metadata, and is the format Apple Music ships synchronised lyrics in (TTML 2 with Apple's iTunesTimedText profile). It also underpins SMPTE-TT for broadcast captions and is exported by professional subtitling suites such as EZTitles, Subtitle Edit and FAB.

What changes in this conversion
TTML has nowhere to put the following, so it is dropped:
- Word-level timing — Per-word timestamps for true karaoke highlighting.
- File-level tags — Title, artist and album stored in the file rather than alongside it.
End times are calculated, not copied. LRC marks only where a line starts, so each cue runs until the next one begins — or 5 seconds, whichever is shorter. The final line always gets 5 seconds.
Timing survives intact. TTML records milliseconds where LRC records centiseconds, so nothing is rounded away.
Questions
How do I convert LRC to TTML?
Paste your LRC into the input box, or open a file from your device. The converter runs in your browser and produces TTML instantly. Click Download to save it.
Is this free?
Yes — no signup, no credits, no upload. Conversion happens entirely on your device, so the file never leaves your browser.
Are timestamps preserved?
Yes. Timestamps round-trip from LRC into TTML with millisecond precision.
What if my LRC has styling or positioning?
Only what both formats can express survives a conversion. TTML keeps the timings and the text; formatting that TTML has no equivalent for is dropped rather than approximated.
