Edit ID3 tags without a desktop app
Read an MP3's ID3v2 tag into a form, fix what's wrong, and download a re-tagged copy. Eight fields, per-field revert, and everything you didn't touch — artwork, lyrics, ReplayGain data — left exactly where it was.
Input
MP3 with existing tags
ID3v2 auto-loaded
Output
Re-tagged MP3
Audio bytes untouched
- Uploads are deleted automatically

MP3 tag editor
Upload a MP3 to load its ID3 tags into the form. Only the fields you actually change are written back — everything else in the file, including cover art and embedded lyrics, is left untouched.

How to use this tool
- 01
Upload your MP3
The existing tag is read and every field is filled in, alongside the file's duration, bitrate and sample rate.
- 02
Edit what's wrong
Title, artist, album, album artist, year, track number, genre and comment. Year and track are checked as you type, so 'nineteen seventy' never reaches the file.
- 03
Change your mind freely
Each edited field gets its own revert control, so fixing an artist doesn't mean re-reading the file to undo a typo in the year.
- 04
Save a tagged copy
The download is named from the artist and title you just set — 'Adele - Hello.mp3' — so you never overwrite the original by accident.
Why use this tool
Audio untouched
Only the ID3 tag is rewritten. The MPEG frames are copied through byte for byte, so bitrate, encoder and sound are identical to what you uploaded.
It keeps the frames it doesn't own
This editor owns eight fields and one user comment. An iTunes volume-normalisation frame, gapless-playback data, ReplayGain values and custom TXXX frames all survive a save — an editor that cleared them would destroy analysis you can't get back.
Your ID3 version is preserved
A v2.4 tag is saved back as v2.4 and a v2.3 tag as v2.3. That matters: rewriting v2.4 as v2.3 flattens multi-valued frames, so a track credited to three artists comes back as one slash-joined string.
Unicode-aware
ID3 text frames can be Latin-1, UTF-8 or UTF-16 and the frame declares which. Values are read by that declaration and written as UTF-8, so accented, Cyrillic and CJK titles round-trip without mojibake.
Who this tool is for
Library cleanup
Fix a lower-case artist, a wrong year or a missing genre on the one file your library keeps sorting to the bottom.
Self-released artists
Tag a master properly before it goes to a distributor, including the album artist field compilations need.
Checking what's really in there
See the actual frame values a player is reading, when the file's on-screen name and its tags disagree.
