Yes — right now it does. The shift is applied by resampling, so raising the pitch shortens the track by the same ratio: a ten-second clip pushed up two semitones comes back at about 8.9 seconds. To hold the length, move the tempo slider the other way — roughly 0.89 for +2 semitones, 1.12 for −2 — or leave pitch at 0 and use tempo alone if all you want is to slow a passage down.
Because the pitch change is a resample, the formants move with the notes rather than staying put, which is what makes big shifts sound chipmunked or cavernous. A couple of semitones on most material passes unnoticed; half an octave is obviously processed. The controls allow ±12 semitones and 0.5× to 2× speed. One more thing worth knowing: the shift is calibrated for a 44.1 kHz source, so a 48 kHz file moves by less than the number you set — convert it to 44.1 kHz first if you need an exact interval.
